Following 36 hours of storms, the sun came out and play finally got under way in the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy at Dundonald Links.

The players went out in threes from two tees starting at 7.30 am and will play a second round this afternoon. A further 18 holes will be played tomorrow, with the prize-giving scheduled for 3.45 pm. The Duke of York will present the trophy to the winner of what is the 9th Young Champions event.
